If you know how long you want to stay on each slide, or how much time to wait before introducing animations onto a slide, rehearsing your timings really can automate the flow of your presentation. Many forward-thinking presenters are now eschewing using slides at all and focusing on the spoken presentation instead. PowerPoint doesn't always have the best reputation.
